District Goals
2008 - 2009
The first priority for the Western Canada District is to grow. While growth is essential, it can take many forms:
- Growing existing Clubs by adding new members
- Growing new and possibility different clubs
- Growth also means new service leadership clubs. For example,
- A K-Kids club in an elementary school
- A Key Club in a high school.
The second priority is to provide the Club President, and the other Club officers the tools and mentoring they need to build their clubs. While growth is critical, we cannot forget that:
· The club is the member
· It’s where service takes place
· It’s where fellowship takes place
· It’s where membership growth takes place
· It’s where membership loss takes place
To meet these priorities, the Western Canada goals are:
- To have each club in the District add one of the following service leadership programs:
- Key Club in a high school, or
- Builders Clubs in a junior high, or
- K-Kids Club in elementary school, or
- Terrific Kids program in an elementary school, or
- Bring Up Grades program
- Have each Division recruit a TAG or Growth team
- Have each Division identify at least one location for a new Kiwanis club
- Ensure that training is in place for the Growth Teams
- Ensure that leadership training is in place for Club officers
